My work in video has drawn me to the discrete still images that can be extracted from individual frames. Most interesting to me has been identifying frames that summarize an explicit mood and imply a particular state of mind. Unlike still photography, moving image observation requires watching time move rapidly forward, attending to rapidly shifting nuances of mood and movement. The search for particular frames within the vast 24 frames-per-second archive is daunting, as only certain images are potent enough to encapsulate important aspects of the larger context at hand.
