Collectively, these images examine Cuba at the turn of the century, late in Castro’s tenure, in all its deep ambiguity. By then, the majority of the population had been born after the Revolution. To those under 40, Castro was a fixture who’d simply always been there. The considerable seductions of Fidel’s voice and persona had begun to fade, with increasingly scant connection to everyday lives and concerns.
